When you arrive, you’ll be asked to complete several forms related to your health history including forms specifically related to hearing, tinnitus, sound tolerance, and a self-ranking of concerns related to your hearing. The next step is to discuss these forms with our team before we conduct a hearing evaluation. Each evaluation varies based on the type and severity of symptoms but may include any or all of the following:

• Audiogram
• Tympanogram
• Distortion Product Otoacoustic Emissions
• Most comfortable and uncomfortable listening levels
• Pitch and loudness match for tinnitus
• Minimum masking levels
• Evaluation of residual inhibition of tinnitus

Following the evaluation, we will review your results and discuss the treatment options available to you. Depending on the findings of your evaluation, education, and counseling, hearing aids or cognitive behavior therapy may be recommended. Routine audiometric evaluations to rule out progressive hearing loss and the use of sound therapy may be recommended as well.
