Dr. Koch: I did both my undergraduate and graduate studies at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania.
What made you decide to pursue audiology?
Dr. Koch: I originally started out with the intent to become a Speech Language Pathologist. After working in the field of Speech Pathology, I quickly discovered that it was not the career for me. Growing up in a household with two parents with hearing loss, I have the experience of what everyday life is like for those with hearing loss. I felt I could make a difference in those people who are affected by hearing loss’ life. I decided to return to graduate school for Audiology, which has been one of the most rewarding decisions of my life.

Dr. Koch: I really don’t do anything that would be considered a hobby per say, but I love getting to spend time with my family doing things like mini golf, fishing, being lazy, etc. I also spend a lot of time playing with and snuggling with my Siberian Husky, Freya.
If you could have dinner with any person, alive or dead, who would it be?
Dr. Koch: Hands down, I would choose Lucille Ball. Since I was in Kindergarten, I have been fascinated and in love with Lucille Ball. I collect anything and everything Lucy. Much like her, I have a gift for making people smile and laugh.
If you could visit any place in the world, where would it be and why?
Dr. Koch: This is a difficult question because traveling is one of the things the drives my heart.
